I'm an autodidact drummer, interested in production methods. Currently working on a clothing-line, silk scarfs and 1 (or maybe 2) 'outsider' art exhibitions.Taking a literal approach to the concept of Relational Aesthetics, my interest lies in edges; of society and mental health and the people existing there. I enjoy generating tension by repurposing the contextualisation of meaning and perceived value.Educated as a Social Worker, I have worked in youth institutions and for the Salvation Army.
I am currently working as the operations manager for Huis Marseille where I also run the only dedicated photobook store in Amsterdam.

From 2015 till 2017 I made portraits of my friends and for various assignments. These images have been published in De Groene Amsterdammer, De Volkskrant, Algemeen Dagblad, De Straatkrant, and a couple of nice blogs.

I found Govert Giezeman in two lucky seconds but spent days on his quixotic website. On a dark corner of the internet, he has rewritten the alphabet and the periodical system. He mused about the theoretics of dancing and detailed abstruse changes to physics, law and language. In his silent second-story apartment he worked on The List of All Things, while opening up about his own mental struggles and modest dreams .This book consists of a careful selection of Goverts writings, lists and ideas. Deeply personal, grandiose and accidentally quite poetic.Hand bound book in edition of 50 | Written in Dutch. -Sold out-- 64 pages with a further 36 page inlay.
- Printed in duo colour Riso with screenprinted cover.
- Designed by Willem Verweijen & Tim Mooij-Knip

The book was launched officially on 16 september 2017 at Butcher's Tears.

Govert passed away in 2021. I had the honor to speak about his work in front of all his friends and family at his funeral. For the next 40 years people can sit on a bench in the Vondelpark, dedicated to his memory.

In november 2022, the complete legacy of Goverts handwritten works was acquired by the Outsider Art Museum in The Hermitage, Amsterdam, where it is now part of the permanent collection.

From 2005 till 2011 I was part of the band Stairs to Nowhere. An experimental garage-rock outfit which gained a small cult following.

Collaborating with Martijn Doolaard from DAMP design on almost every project, we created a visual identity for the band using abandoned factories as our canvas. No photoshop allowed.Physical albums and merchandise were all hand-painted or screen-printed in editions of 100 till 600. All are sold out now.

We recorded 2 albums and 2 EP's, burnt pianos and electrocuted each other while singing, broke into Vredenburg concerthall to play a show and played (legal) shows in Holland, Belgium and the Ukrain. The last album was released during 4 consecutive shows on old ship we inhabited, after which the band split up.

TIJGER SALTO was a hardcore-punk project that played violent shows in bunkers and small venues. Between 2014 and 2015 we released a string of video's, a cassette and an album in the form of a handcrafted beer. The concept of TIJGER SALTO was simple.- Say 'Yes' to everything
- Make no corrections
- Yes

I did all video's, artwork and drumming for this project. The style was based on accidents, computer glitches, cheap gear and low-res screenshots superimposed on crudely cropped pictures; mostly made in a single sitting, no corrections allowed.Dries Meinema made the short film Punk Rock Drummer about the band.

Our first and last album was released as a handcrafted speciality beer, of which only 65 bottles where made. The album was sold out imbibed in it's totality on the last TIJGER SALTO show in the Vondelbunker.

TIJGER SALTO resulted in a few post-show hospital visits, permanent hearing damage, a deep scar in my hand, and was worth it.vimeo.com/tijgersalto

This is my second photobook. It was released in juli of 2022.It is about a man who loved his wife so dearly, he took on the entire art world for her.Mick loves Marianne. He has for over 40 years. They met when he was 17. Marianne paints and Mick encourages her. He says she is better than Picasso because she invented a new artform: Meta-Art.Mick created a website for Marianne on which he writes long essays about why Meta-Art is the end of all art.He also made several videos explaining why Marianne is a genius to rival and eclipse even Rembrandt. These videos are carefully shot and scripted to make him look like an influential figure in the art world. Mick filmed himself in a car (his)†, in front of a castle (not his), an office building, and kneeling in the light of a fridge (at night).Mick says it’s not about him. The Art of Marianne is his first and only concern. Yet, his long-form expository musings could be construed as a form of art itself, as he is not slow or shy to point out. I think his labyrinthian form of artspeak can be repurposed to reflect how we talk about art. I also think Mick would agree with this statement.† Citroen C1 Ambiance (blue)

The book was printed and released in the gallery where Meta-art was first exhibited. It contains a carefully selected sequence of Micks articles and essays, interspersed with stills from his video's.Hand bound book in edition of 25 | written in English and Dutch - sold out-
- 175 pages, 2 paper stocks
- Tipped in photograph on cover
- Printed on a Workcentre 7120 that almost drove me nuts.

Hans Olivier is helaas kunstenaar. In 2 dagen is alles uitverkocht. Als er meer werk beschikbaar komt mailen we je. Meld je aan hieronder!📷 Volg alles over Hans Olivier op InstagramAls er werk vrij komt is dat te kopen op de webshop
